OOTD | Taking An Airy Chance

I originally planned to give myself two goddess braids and wear navy. gauzy, linen pants and a light, soft, cream coloured camisole. I woke up, checked the weather and said “nah”. After my failed attempt at goddess braids the night before (I forgot how difficult it was), and waking from  a somewhat restless sleep, the last thing I wanted to do was try again this morning.  Since I had worn a bun all last week, I decided to leave my hair in plaits, twist up a turban, and rock this look.

Generally I’d wear this with an olive, tan, or cranberry coloured top. With one in my hamper and the other at my home closet, I decided to try something a bit new. Originally I did have on a cranberry tank, but something was off. Next a tried black to bring out the little details, but I wasn’t feeling that either. Finally I decided to throw caution to the wind and wear this nice, dark, rosy colour. It isn’t something I’d typically do, because I love to match, but it paid off.

Out I went with my favourite bronze sandal, golden turban, cool top, this roomy clutch (It’s large enough to hold my ipad, keyboard, water bottle, and wallet!), and grandmother’s skirt. That’s right folks, this skirt is older than me and my mom if I remember correctly. On my grandmother it stopped above the knee, but on a shortie like me, it the perfect long skirt.
I’m glad to have stepped outside of matching, comfort zone and given this look a chance.
