One of the best parts about turning 21 is that I can go out buy my own alcohol and test out all the delectable recipes I’ve been saving on my Tumblr and Pinterest for the last 5 years.  Some of these I’ve tried and served to my friends and others are on the TBD list.

  • Holiday Sangria – I adopted this based of the recipe from The Blond Cook . It’s pretty effortless and something any wine lover can enjoy.
    • 1 Bottle of White Wine ( I used Pinot Grigio)
    • 1.5 Cups of Cranberries
    • 1-2 Sliced Oranges
    • 1 Sliced Apple (Pink Lady/Fuji for sweetness or Granny Smith for tartness)
    • 2 Cinnamon Sticks
    • 1.5 Cups of White Grape Juice
    • 15-20 Whole Cloves
    • 1 Cup of Brandy (Optional but gives it more of a kick)
      • Combine ingredients in pitcher and let chill for at least 2 hours, Make sure you eat your fruit when your juice is all gone
  • Minty Cocoa – For those of you that enjoy a hint of mint in your hot chocolate
    • 1 Mug of Hot Chocolate
    • 1 Shot of Peppermint Schnapps
    • 1 Square of Peppermint Bark
    • 1 Candy Cane (optional)
    • Marshmallows (Totally optional, I’m not a fan)
    • Whipped Cream (optional)
      • After you’ve prepared your hot chocolate, add the shot and peppermint bark. Stir until peppermint bark. Garnish as desired.
  • Spiked Cider
    • 2 Cups of Apple Cider
    • 2 Cinnamon Sticks
    • 1/2 Cup of Rum
    • 1 Chunked Apple
      • Combine ingredients in pitcher. You can warm this on the stove or pop it into the fridge to chill for at least 2 hours.
Do you all have any drinks you enjoy over the holidays? If you try any of these please report back!
Besos,
Aitza
