My Aspiration in Life is Happiness – Blogmas Day 5

Don’t forget about the 4th day blogmas

On the 5th day of Blogmas Aitza gave to me, an update on her 30 before 30 activities!!

My 30 before 30 bucket is about the aspiration for happiness #challenge
my 30 before 30 is filled with experiences want as a form of growth #life

Like clockwork, I use the month of December to reflect on my life. It has less to do with it being the end of the calendar year and more to do with the conception of me. Count back nine months from September 22nd, and you get some day in December. If you’ve been reading the blog all year, you’ll know I’ve created a new 30 before 30 list. It took me a while to understand that changing my goals and choosing not to pursue them does not make me a failure or quitter.

My Aspiration in Life Would be to be Happy

Over the last year, I’ve come to terms with the fact I might not accomplish everything on this list before the age of 30. As my pal Jun recently “progress cannot be put on a timeline.happiness cannot be put on a timeline.” As I revisit this list each year, I am reminded of my own personal growth. My 30 before 30 list is here to hold me accountable to the goals I want to achieve in life, but I am not a hostage. The best part of Beyonce’s Pretty Hurts was,

Beyoncé reminds us that happiness is the ultimate goal of a 30 before 30 list. #blogmas

That is my truth. Christmas is a time of joy and happiness. As I reflect on my year this blogmas season, I am reminded that my 30 before 30 is about happiness. I’m not out to achieve a constant state of happiness, because that’s not realistic. My goal is for the good to outweigh the bad. If I can reflect on my months or quarters or years and say “ there were some rough spots, but I had happiness,” then I am content. As I’ve said before “life is about growth and not staying stagnant.” I’m choosing to live 23 as a year of unknown; one where mindfulness is accepted and control is slowly released. This practice may result in a few more strikes on my list next year, or it may result in none at all. This year, it is not about the growth that can be quantified and broken down into percentages, but the introspective work that will lay the groundwork for who I will be once I reach 30 and 40 and 50.

As I reflect on my year this #blogmas season, I am reminded that my 30 before 30 is about happiness. Click To Tweet

It doesn’t matter if you have a 30 before 30 or a 40 before 40 or an unofficial bucket list. As long as you’re actively reaching for your happiness and holding your self accountable, you are going to live a fulfilled life. Be happy good people!

  • This is an interesting perspective to have. I think at some point, we should all have a 30 before 30 list, even if it’s not completed by the time we get to 30. Life’s all about progress and change, so who knows what we can achieve?

    • Aitza B

You are so right. I started this list to see what I could achieve. Honestly, we are capable of so much. It is astonishing. Thanks for commenting, Amber.

  • You have a pretty cool list here. I especially like #30 as it something I am planning to do too.

    • Aitza B

Finger crossed your mother-daughter trip goes well! Thanks so much for commenting!

  • Beautiful shoot! Your site looks great – love the branding.

    Hi
I saw your tweet on blogger and thought to check your site. Impressive, looks like Aitza has come a long way. Keep the good work going.
Do check my travel & lifestyle blog http://www.twosomelife.com I am sure you would love it.

  • Adrienne Randle

Love idea of creating the list but not making yourself feel bad if you don’t check something off of it.

  • There’s a lot of things are your list that I would like to be able to cross off before 30 as well! I’ve been kinda scared to make a list like this because I don’t want to feel like I failed lol but I like your perspective on it. Just work towards being happy!

  • Muy bueno! I love this! I made a 30×30 last year and recently did an update as well. I see we have a couple similar goals! You can cross off be a small business owner because you own this blog which is a small business 😉

  • I’m allowing myself the grace and room to grow

  • That was so me and it took some time for me shift my mindset that not accomplishing something by x date, didn’t make me a failure. Like the saying goes, we make plans and God laughs. I encourage you to make a list. It might not be 30 things but someone you can work on.

  • You know, I never thought of my blog as small business, but you are so right, Tina. Also I’m going to check out your 30 before 30 list. I love reading other’s.

  • Blossom Onunekwu

Thanks for sharing this with us! And I hope you work smart for that phD! 🙂

  • Marquita Jennings

Beautiful post! I love the 30 before 30 list but I’m glad your aspiration in life is to be happy. People can learn from these words!

  • Aww i love this, i’m also about to turn 30 so this hit close to home for me. I love your outlook on life and I try to do the same, even if we don’t make our goals before 30, just the fact that we are out here trying to live our best life is reward enough!

  • Loved this! I keep saying to myself I will create a 30 before 30 as I am just 1.5 years away from that happening. Your post remind me that even if I don’t create one or start one soon, as long as I am content knowing that one will be created even if internally, that is okay!

Wow! This is so encouraging. Go for that PHD. Good for you.
