Casual Holiday Party Look (boohoo petite) – Blogmas Day 9

The Ordinary foundation is a great cheap foundation for a casual holiday look #beauty

On the 9th day of blogmas, Aitza gave to me…casual holiday looks to slay at the party!

Nine days in and I’m still going strong with the rhyming! That said, Merry Christmas Eve! I’m so excited for tomorrow. This wasn’t the initially scheduled post, but sometimes Instagram gives you inspiration, and you have to jump on it.

I was scrolling down Instagram, finally seeing pictures from December 12th, and Sophie of Sophie with a Blog latest post at the time caught my eye.

While my usual outfit of choice for these functions includes black dress, black tights, black booties, grey hat, and grey coat, sometimes that isn’t always the case. So I was forced to consider my alternative options when I want something or a bit more casual or my fingernail put a hole in my tights, or my dress of choice is dirty. Just as luck would have it; I found myself attending a holiday party where the dress code was casual but I was still planning to slay.

A good laugh feels even better when you're rocking a casual holiday look that's petite friendly #fashion

Casual Holiday Outfit

I love my boatneck tops and sweaters. Black is always my choice as it’s slick, will likely hide any food spill mishaps, and pairs well with other colours. My  high-waisted jeans from LOFT are probably my most worn pair of denim at the moment. They help to elongate my legs and give me an overall snatched look, that isn’t too uncomfortable after a pig out on party food. As someone who has been shying away from statement necklaces and earrings, hats are an excellent alternative. A stylish wide brim helps balance out my oversized forehead with straight hair and pull together a rather basic look. I’ve also noticed I receive more comments on my studs and industrial bar when wearing a fedora when the light hits at the right time.

Boohoo's petite vegan leather jacket with OTK boots is great for casual holiday look. #fashion

Of course, no winter look is complete without a perfect coat or jacket. I’ve lucked out and been able to wear my vegan leather jacket from boohoo. The zip detailing and quilted sleeves  Don’t forget, tis the season for over-the-knee boots. You may not have Stuart Weitzman money, but you can still look fly with your OTK boots, comfy sweater, and skinnies. This is probably the most quintessential way to wear the boots while looking trendy.

Casual Holiday Make-Up

I am no one’s makeup guru. On a good day, I apply eyeliner, mascara, and lipstick. Anything above that is me getting glammed up. My little finishing touches after applying my foundation are bronzer to warm up my cheeks, and dark lip give a mysterious look. Given that the majority of the look is monochrome, the pop of colour draws attention to you.

Bronzer and deeper lip colour can make a casual holiday look pop! #beauty

foundation – the ordinary 3.1Y and 3.2 N  // lip colour- nyx translyvania // lip pencil – colour pop ellarie // bronzer – black radiance (gingersnap & blackberry) // eye liner- nyx black  // mascara – maxfactor / brows- nyx dark brown// contour – nyx deep

Sometimes you don’t have to twinkle like the tree lights in a shimmery dress to get compliments.

Besos,

Aitza

  • Your style is so me! The all black and the thigh high boots is definitely my go to and most times its unintentional. I just tend to gravitate towards darker colors. I also love the dark lip! & that hat girl! yessssss 💕

  • You look adorable! I dont know that I could pull that off but it is so you! I hope that you have a great New Years weekend and get some fun casual party time with your friends and family.

  • You look great! I have a sense of style, but comfort often wins out over style, lol. I also live in Michigan so it’s super cold here during the holidays … it was -8 degrees when I woke up today o_O but normally is anywhere from like 10-30 degrees in the winter months.

All of my maternal first cousins are in Detroit. They tried to get my mom and me to come spend the holidays with them and we just laughed. Michigan is a no no during winter, even if it does come with a White Christmas.

  • Winter is such a tough time for me in terms of fashion. I’m always cold so I dress in layers and as comfortable as possible. I like your style and especially like your use of hats – very cute.

I have never seen someone looks so good in a hat. I have to start wearing hat now because of you.

  • Love the casual outfits! Loving the hat and glasses too! I live in West Palm Beach, FL where I always dress in casual athletic clothes. Feels so good not to have to dress up and wear makeup!

I’m from Orlando so I definitely know that level of casual and comfort. Thanks so much for commenting, April.

You look so cute! This has been me for the past few years, the casual look! I use to do the dress, heels etc. but, I feel so much better when I can be casual and comfortable. Love that hat, you rocking it!

  • This looks a pretty darn chill and vibed out even perfect for the choices you selected. Biker leathers & knee boots are ALWAYS a go! Love It!

  • Fabulous! The hat really polished off the entire look. Very casual yet still chic. I love that purple lippy 😍

I’ve become such a huge fan of hats. Best accessory I’ve invested in. Thanks so much for the compliments and comment, Felicia!

  • I love your outfit! It’s very chic and the jacket is the perfect finishing touch. I hear you about the make-up. I’d love to be amazing at it, but I’m never going to be, so I usually keep it to foundation, blush, eyeliner, one shade of eye shadow, mascara, and lipstick. OK… that sounds like a lot, but it’s really not 🙂
